Photography Shootout
Feb 24, 2024
 Wood
s Power Grip 908 W Main Street, Laurel

10 am to 2 pm

What is a shootout? It is a perfect place to try some new and creative ideas. Explore using your settings to accomplish an artistic flair to your images. This time of year is a little harder to go outside, take photos or even get motivated. So, why not spend a few hours trying something new.

Approximately seven to ten stations will be set up for the photographer to be able go to each one. Each photographer should limit themselves to 15 minutes at each station. This will allow other photographers time to utilize a station. At 1 pm the stations will be open for anyone to use. Just be mindful of others and share the space.

I will need help gathering supplies to be brought to Wood’s and setting up and tearing down. Below I have listed several ideas for stations, and I would like volunteers to supply the needs for a station. Where it was possible, I also supplied an example of the idea for the station. I have included a short description of each station.

STATIONS:

1. Glass on Glass: A large piece of glass laid across two sawhorses horizontally, a second piece of glass is supported vertically by two specially cut boards. There will be two lights; one positioned behind the vertical piece of glass and one pointed up from the bottom. Glass objects are then placed on the horizontal glass.

2.Water droplets: Set your electronic device with a colorful downloaded background ,under the object. Using fine mist of water, spritz the object being photograph. Adjust lighting if necessary.

3. Flowers: macro, water drop, blurred, multi exposure, Tissue Paper, Members: Bring flowers, tissue papers, water mister

4. Lime, lemon and orange fruit: placed on the bottom of a glass pan, spritz with water. Needs to be pre-sliced, clear glass tray with no scratches,

5. Rear sync: held upstairs volunteers needed to model or photographers take turns. Bring items such as a scarf, fairy lights which move freely. Instead of the fire, I thought fairly lights would work best

6. Incense sticks with holder. Black background. Candle in a jar

7. LED light bulbs: See example black back ground with electronic devise with colorful back ground image enlarged.

8. Flowers in a vase, fill with water, then use either milk or acrylic based white ink. Use modeling clay or blue tac and secure flowers to bottom of the vase.

Please contact Diane Erhart if you can help out with set up or supplies.
